Thanksgiving at Frankie Lemmon - 2012

At this year's Thanksgiving Family Feast (Nov. 19), we are thankful not only for the great food and fellowship, but for the gifts of:

Faith: Melissa (right) winner of $100K from IKEA to help children with intellectual disabilities, with husband Daniel and son Aidan (student in four-year-olds).

Hope: Ms White (right) celebrates her birthday with sister Annette and new niece Hazel.

Love: Grandmother Grace Torrey with Brooklyn (student in three-year-olds).

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
– (1 Corinthians 13:13)

We are also thankful for the gift of Leadership: Meet Dan Bruer, Frankie Lemmon's very first president, who began his duties November 12. We are excited about the future that lies ahead for our school. Mr. Bruer hails from Missouri and lives in Raleigh with his wife and two children. (Details)

Mr. Pat is thankful for his granddaughter Raven, who would have LOVED Frankie Lemmon School as a child. Now age nineteen, she recently graduated from high school in Washington, NC with an Edmund Harding $500 scholarship in theater!

Just last week, I visited her where she volunteers at Eagle's Wings, the largest food pantry in Beaufort County—"Christian Love in Action". Here she is below, with warehouse manager Bryan Oesterreich and board member/volunteer Susan Zachary, who gave me a wonderful grand tour. (P.S. They love Raven, too!)

Also watch Raven and her Mom in the Eagle's Wings fundraiser called Dancing With OUR Stars.

Hi Pat. My daughter, Nadia, is in the 4-yr. old class and for some reason I'm just now finding out about your wonderful blog! I have spent a good portion of today looking through the videos and posts and have been excited to see all that Nadia is doing during her school day. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your posts and I appreciate you and the time you take to love on our kids and be such a blessing to their teachers! Thank you!!!
